TUSCA rocks !!!!! ..... but is completely different

l
l

Entao my friends !!!!

I know that I haven't written for 10 days ( thanks for counting Ania ;PP) however - I am becoming Brazilian slowly, lazy girl ;PPPP

thre pictures 2-4 are from my first weekend in Brazil - on the beach in our house and in the way back ;))
The next - from TUSCA - I wish I could show you more pictures, but everyone advised me not to take camera for TUSCA , the description below is everything what I can say about these days

So about TUSCA:
It is kind of students party - something like polish Juwenalia. But in fact completely different ;)))
So the parties started on Thursday and were lasting till Sunday night.
4 universities from Sao PAulo state took part in TUSCA. It is very easy to recognize from which university the student is - as everyone wears the Tshirt - with University's logotype, university's colors ect. It is kind of tradition and the thing to be proud of.
And in Sao Carlos there are 2 universities: USP and UFSCar which compete, but without fighting ( as you could understand my dear polish friends - it is not competing like Cracovia and Wisła used to ;PP )

So TUSCA is devided into 2 parts: jogos e festas .
Jogos - games - are every day afternoon up till the evening. Universities compete in handball, volleybay, basketball and of course football. And as the Brazilians love sport - it is big big big event, especially on Sunday -during finals - everyone is watching it.
What's more - it finishes at 1am. Imagine in Poland students playing football at 1 in the morning, when just behind the wall party is ;PPP
That's why polish football sucks I think ;PPP
Another thing about these "championships" is that every sigle university has a band who supports players , making NOISEEEEEE !!! really big noise ;))) I am almost deaf ;PP
so there is team of 30 -40 people playing drums, but the way they play is ...... it is impossible to describe for me. I will try to put some video from camera of my friend so you could see and listen to. The bands practise twice a week, but the results are impresssive. And everything what is played by them has " happy Brazilian's style"
And the sport halls, especially the one where the finals were played - it looks like Spodek in Katowice - and it is statium of one school here. Impossible to describe.
Sport is the love of Brazilians - now I am sure !!! Especially for guys !! They were crazy after the fotball match finished. Fans od the team which won, jump to the playing field and started to undress, showing asses and not only to the fans of the opposite team - I would never expect it !!!
So I got the advice ---> Malwi - dont invite any guy to go out with you on Wednesday or Sunday night - as the football leaque is on these days ;PPP

Ok and the second part of TUSCA are parties, and the parties here are crazy, or even I could say - wild ;PP
so - the first night - the before party was in one republika ( students house, - not dorm ) there were around 200 people there. Impossible. First thing I said when I entered there was: Do any people live here?? Who is so crazy to organize the party like that here ?? there was the live band playing in the house - in living room I think - you can see on the picture, the people were drinking beer and drinks mixed with vodka - which were in the water distributors, as you can see on the picture aswell. Everyone has a red Tshirt - as it is the color of one of the universities.
And the party started around 3pm. Then we moved to the main entance of the university from where the "corso" - march started. 30 thousands students, following the big track from which the music was played - crazy !!!!! and when we reached the place the party still continued .

Friday, Saturday, Sunday - there were also parties - open-air, three stage with different music - more European, techno, typical brazilian music, you paid just entrance and then you had open bar for vodka and beer - imagine how crazy people were afterwards ;PP
so about most different thing comparing to my Cracow's parties- here everyone kisses everyone.
Some people say that it works like that only during TUSCA - we will see ;PPP
So the guys, the girls - kiss after few minutes of "introduction"= talking , or sometimes without --> hot Brazilians ;PPP
Some of the people do even the competition - writing down the "scores" and "who will win "kissing contest" . It memorized me mornings, after parties in Lisbon - with my crazy residence guys - when during breakfast you were exchanging "experiences " from the party at the previous days" and most common question in the kitchen during breakfast -> did you score ?? ;PPP

So that's the way how the TUSCA works . It is veeeeery different than in Poland - it is more crazy for sure !!

My welcome party !!!! and my first impression of Brazil

Oiiiii gente !!!!!

So firsty - I am alive, I have landed in Brazil ;))))
Flight was really long but fortunatelly I had two seats, so I could have slept, watched movies, listen to Brazilian music and getting ready for jumping to new reality.

After Ive landed - my first question was --> Am I in Brazil ??? Where is the sun??? In fact it was really cloudy for two first days and not so "hot" as I had expected.
But people from AIESEC picked me up on the airport and we went for a weekend to the beach - was really really nice ;))) Sunday we were sunbathing. Even in winter the ocean is warmer than BAltic sea in summer :)))
The interesting thing about Brazil is that on the beach there is a lot of active people. I mean - people dont lie on the beach - they play football, volleyball, run, walk ect. It is different than in Europe. Lazy Europeans ;PPP

Since Monday I am in Sao Carlos - my city ;)))
It is not so big but also not so small ;)) a lot of young people, students ect.
Monday evening I moved to my family - in fact bigg one -->mother, son, 8 cats and 3 dogs - scary ;PPPP And I am scared of cats - so I avoid to stay in my place and next week I will change my house.
Interesting thing is that almost everyone in Brazil ( middle class and rich peole) has a lady to take care of house, even in students houses ;PPP
Students places are called Republica - and look quite different than in Poland.
Here if in one apartment, or one house - 5-10 students live - it is student's house, and of course with cleaning lady, who comes twice, 3 times a week- to clean rooms, kitchen, make laundry ect.
Funny - I thought - it is only like that in the Brazilian soap operas ;PPP

Another interesting thing is the difference between rich and poor people. There are people extremely rich, who have a swimming pool in their houses, big, enormous houses, and people who live in favelas- really really poor districts, expecially famous in Rio de Janeiro.

And the system of buying a ticket for the buses is sooooo funny and strange- but I need to make pictures to explain you exactly how it works - so in the next post ;)))

The pictures you can see above are from my welcome party, It was very very nice, Ive met a lot of people, everyone is so friendly, so warm, offers help all the time, people are so interested, and love Żołądkowa gorzka and potato's pancakes ;)))) we had fun ;))) almost everyone has a car here, and even on close distance they always drive - lazy brazilians ;PPP

and Brazilians eat a loooootttttttt of sweet things- they eat even the powdered milk with ice creams - so it is extremely sweet. And if they eat meet - it is like eating salt ;PPP especially for me- as I dont use salt at all.

ok, I am not gonna make you bored, so another impressions from first days, weeks in Brazil in the next post - ok??? ;)))
waiting also for news from you

bjos do Brazil, do Sao Carlos

Because the point is to have dreams !!!

and believe they can come true, even though they are extremely unreal !!!!!

My dream starts today!!!! although I still don't believe !!

In Brazil I will " wear my T-shirt inside out" - my life for upcoming half of the year will be 18O degrees different than in Poland - so many new things, new customs ect. Even Christmas I will spend on the beach in the middle of the summer - strange ;P

On this blog I will try to write as often as I manage: a few words about my life there, upload some pictures ect. to keep you all updated. This T-shirt ( on the pic) will memorize me that I have many reasons to keep in touch with you, and to be back !!!! I am so happy because of it ;)))

I've decided to write in English to enable also my dear Erasmus friends to read a few words about my crazy brazilian life !!!! ( if there are some mistakes - I will ask Scott for proff-reading -ok?? ;PP )

Wish me good flight and as soon as I have internet in Brazil, will write "first experience" post here.

Bjos grandes !!!!
