Saturday night fever = what is called "students house party" in Sao Carlos

So - if you dont believe- you have a proof on these pics ---> this was STUDENT's HOUSE PARTY !!!!
Impossible - really !! If I saw it on the pictures I don't know if I would believe !!!
But I was there and it was real ;)))
so there were more than 200 people
the party was in one republika - students house ( but not dormitory) , just students house ;)
Party started around 1.30 in the afternoon and was uptill 11pm.
You pay entrance ( girls - R$10 - around 16 zl - impossible!! ) and then you have "open bar" - it means - beer for free and drinks aswell. And food- barbecue ( mniami ) !!! big one - you can see also on the pic !
There were 2 places with music - almost like in the club when you have 2 dance floors
One place was with live music - there were bands playing - and it was soooooo nice, as they played and sang brazilian music!!!
But the upper floor was Dj - and more electronic music at the beggining and then more "european style " music . Me and Dri were dancing like crazy --->and saying that we feel "almost like in Europe" it was soooo nice ;)))

and we had to make a pictures with the bottles of beers - as here noone drinks beer from the bottle, people use small glasses ( size of plastic cup) -- > why ?? because they r crazy about keeping drinks cold , so when you hold beer in the hand it is getting warmer faster. Thats why they use special "protectors" which make the process of getting warmer - slower ;PP
So - in fact the bottles are empty ( already ;-PP ) but we needed to make a pictures in Polish-Slovak style ;))
Ahhh - and another nice thing - "environmentally friendly" thing is that mostly and almost all of the people come for a party with own cup called caneca- as ours red on the pics. They r plastic ( but not this shitty plastic white) - it is really nice custom !!!

Ahh- some of the people who bought invitations for the party earlier, or paid more ( I dont know ) got the nice cups ( guys have cups with the shape of woman's body - nice invention - isn't it ??) Also on the pic !!!

So the party was really nice,
and this Thursday there is another enormous party - barbecue party ( almost all of the parties are barbecue party= churrasco, even if there is no grill ;PP) really--> festa grande de engenharia de producao ---> vamos !!!!!

And since the weekend and the begining of next week - Campinas again - montly meeting and recruitment process ;)

Salgadinhos + New members of AIESEC party

So as the week is to "work" , the weekend is to relax and party ;))
So do I .
Friday - there was an AIESEC party for new people.
Firstly every new selected AIESEC member had to make a speech in front of the AIESEC board and then the board choosed the group who joined the AEISEC.
As I didnt have to make any speech, didnt wait for my queue, wasn't stressed about making a speech ---> I I enjoyed the party.
I was eating salgadinhos ( small things, warm, salty, made of cheese or meat or whatever- you never know which one you get - surprise :) ) and drinking beer- although I should have drunk Caipirinha ;))
Party as party - some people would say, but I really enjoyed to talk with people, dance ( i.e this AIESEC's dance on the one of the pictures ) and speak a bit my portuguese de Portugal, or de Rio de Janeiro - hehe ;PP was funny and was good fun as you can see on the pics,
and it was really warming up before Saturday's party ...

one week in "the city " - working in Campinas :))

1,5 week ago I went to Campinas to work in the office of NAPRA.
It was really nice time there !!!
Unfortunatelly I don't have any pictures as my card from camera"stopped to like me" for a day and I couldn't have opened the pictures so I needed to make a format of it.
However - the upcoming weekend and the beginning of next week I will be in Campinas aswell - so I will have a chance to make some pictures again from the office.

So one week there - was really nice.
Campinas - is the second biggest city in Sao Paulo state ( Sao Paulo is the biggest in the state, and in whole Brazil aswell). In fact - Sao Paulo state has the same number of habitants as Poland, and Sao Paulo City around 40% of population of Poland - isnt it funny?? or unbeliavable?
Campinas has around 3 mln people and comparing to my small city ( Sao Carlos)--> it is CITY ;DDD

Daily life there was nice, quiet but nice - going to the office in the morning, going back home for the lunch or going somewhere for the lunch . In fact lunch break in Brazil is for 2h, not like in Poland ( 30 minutes) Then working again till 5-6 and then relax - preparing dinner, going for a pasteis to the city, or for a juice or cookies - small, sweet, delicious ;)))
I was there with Dri ( Adriana -from Slovakia ) She is in Brazil already 8 months.
It is so funny cause we are so similar ( I mean Poland and Slovakia, and of course- Dri and me aswell, as people ;PP ) So we cooked for Andrea ( woman from NGO in whose house we stayed for a week) Polish - Slovak meal - potato pancakes and couve-flor with eggs - and both of us were so happy to have possibility to cook and eat something "smelling home" and offer it to someone aswell ;))

The funny thing about us ( me adn Dri) is that when we want to gossip ( hehe ;P ) the easiest way to be not understood by anyone is speaking: me in polish , she in slovak - languages are sooo similar that we almost didnt have difficulties to communicate.

On Thursday we went out for a beer and playing snooker with friends from Sao Carlos, who came back home for a weekend. It was sooo nice evening, except few things - which were called by one friend " surprise ". Ok - so my surprise was that I got to know that I am "blond girl" without education ;PPP funny ;)) I always try to pretend I am smart and usually I can manage - not this time ;PP this guy had just X-ray of my brain ;PPP
And what is more - our friends showed us on the way " special garrages" --> you know that here there are kind of "love garrage" ---> guy enters with a girl, pays for it, and then "tries to convience her how much he loves her " ;PPPP really - it was soooo surprising for me, impossible how "innovative" Brazilians can be ;)))

And on Saturday we went with Dri to feira - to buy beautiful neckles, earings and other "girl's stuff" -it was paradise for us. Imagine that everything is made of seeds, or some things from Amazon - impressive !!! beautiful !!!

And to finish our visit in Campinas we were "discovering" Campinas' bus station for 3 hours, as we missed the previous bus by 5 minutes . But was funny !!!
As soon as I get some pictures from Andrea's camera - will add them here ;))

How Brazilians express happiness ???

Ok - so I am already lazy Brasilian girl ;PPP as I haven't uploaded any pictures and haven't written any post for longer than 2 weeks!!!

Thanks to some curious person who wish to read my "silly stories" here ( ;PPP ) I finally do it ;))

So - As I wrote in post about TUSCA, how the "supporting university bands" supoort their universities and how people act after their university win the competition ( especially in football)
here you have 2 poves.
One - about this great bands , who play drums- every university has it, around 50-60 people playing at one time - really great !!! impressive!!!

About the reaction after the football match finish ---> just watch !!!
If you watch carrefully - maybe you will be able to see some nacked guys showing their asses and not only. I know that it is not the same as in real, but for these real view of "happiness" - you have to come to Brazil !!

What did Malwi discover during Discovery Days of AIESEC ???

Oiii ;))))

This weekend I went for Discovery Days with AIESEC - out of the city, to another city which name I dont remember, but starting with "Ipa...." - I think ;))
So friday evening we met alltogether and by cars we went to "discover what AIESEC is about"
In fact - that was meeting and integration with new members which were selected to join AIESEC Sao Carlos after recruitment process.
As you can see - pictures say everything - I had a really good fun !!!
Friday we had some "integration games"
Saturday - hmmm... sweet, lazy Saturday ... :)))
Saturday there were some workshops and lectures for new members, new OCP ( President) was selected .. but ... ---> I was observing all this events from the swimming pool ;)))
heh- trainees in Sao Carlos have a special treatment and special rights - hehe ;)
As I was told when I asked if we have to take part in all the events from the agenda --> "you dont have to do anything" So - I've obeyed that advice and spent whole Saturday and half of Sunday on swimming pool.
I had an excuse - I dont have a swimming pool in my house, so I had to take advante of the occasion. And as I decided to be Brazilian girl - needed to work on the color of my skin ;PPP
was perfect - sun, swimming pool, people bringing us ( trainees - there are 3 of us ) food - like feeding European animals in the zoo - hehe ;)))
there was only one thing missing - caipirinha ;PPP

Saturday evening - we had a party "Prostitutes and Pimps" - so dear friends - my make up and my " dress" are like that only because of the topic of the party. I haven't changed so much during 3 weeks of being in Brazil :PPP
The party was really crazy !!! we had so much fun !!!
I went to sleep really late, and felt like being woken up after 10 minutes of sleeping on Sunday morning.
Another very nice thing was, that we were woken up by the Organizing Commitee people, walking from door to door playing guitar and singing - so nice way to start a day ;)))))

Ahhh- about the food - the funny is that for luch or dinner we had a many options to choose, so we were putting everything on our plates. Imagine - rice with potatoes, frise, pasta, salat, meat, fish on one plate ---hehe , crazy!!! I thought only Chinese people eat like that ;))) maybe I become Chinese in Brazil ;PPP
But it was something different than typical lunch in Brazil, because here people everyday (really, I am not joking, EVERY SINGLE DAY ) eat " arroz com feijao" - rice & beans ( + some salat, meat) .

Ahh- 3 more observervation from the last week.
First one - On Tuesday I went out for the meeting with new AIESEC memebers- everyone was supposed to say few words about himself/herself. And what??
In Poland people say usually- name, studies subject, hobby and why did they join organization. Here - name, age, and if they have a boyfriend/girlfriend - so funny, so different, Brazilians look for "love" everywhere ;PPP
Second one - when I went out for a beer with Dri ( trainee from Slovakia) we got a beer - in fact 0,6l beer and two small glasses to drink it ( the glass had size of plastic cup ) . We were laughing of it. Because in Poland or in Slovakia we would drink this 0,6l beer either from bottle or from the typical tankards ( not this small glasses )
Third one - Brazilians are crazy about keeping the things cold, especially drinks !!! if you order beer not from the fridge - people look on you with the question on the face--> R U Crazy ??? ;PP
Beer or other drinks are so cold, that sometimes almost frozen. Ithas happened not once to me, that we got a bootle of beer with ice inside - heh ;'PP
and the bottle of beer comes always with some protector, to keep it cold.
Even on cans, or icecreams boxes- there is place where either temperature level is shown or the color of the cup is changing when it becomes to "warm". It is so funny and untypical for me.

Ahhh- so summarizing my weekend and answering the question - tittle of the post" What did Malwi discovered during Discovery Days? " ---> Swimming pool and burning brazilian sun !!!!!

warm kisses for everyone from warm Brazil ;))
