So after driving Dri to the airport in Sao Paulo - sleeping one night in Sao PAulo in grandma's apartment of one of friend from AIESEC in the way back from Sao Paulo I went to Campinas from where I had my flight to Salvador. So Thursday - airport , Friday - 3 airports : Campinas->Brasilia-> Salvador.
I landedin Salvador on Friday after 11 pm ( local time- it is in fact one our earlier than in Sao Carlos, as here there is no summer/winter time) and Joao picked me up from the airport !!! and the "holiday's time started"

So - first of all - the air is completely different in Salvador - it is sooo humid.. as Salvador lies in between the ocean and the bay - in fact it lies on small paninsula- from one side of the city - there is Atlantic Ocean - from the other - All Saints' Bay.
And because of this a lot of marvelous views, beautiful beaches..... paradise!!!!
So the first evening - directly from the airport we went around city to make some sightseeing - Salvador by night, with great views, mostly of the lighthouse ....
and then coke in the famuos place- in the middle of the street when the famous "acaraje" is sold. acaraje is typical food from Bahia- inspired by the cousine of Africans who settled this part of Brasil...
So the women who sell acaraje - mostly on the streets, have to wear all-white dresses and caps. After coke we wnet home to sleep

the next day - saturday was seightseeing day !!!!
in fact Salvador is the oldest brasilian city, with historical center.. and it is fabolous.....
old buildings, old town, really - first place in Brasil that I could smell the history....
so in old town there are small streets with small bars, with small touristic shops with kit from BAHIA....
we went to the famous square where the videoclip o f Michael Jackson with Olodum Group was recorded ;) it is the square from every postcard from Salvador - I couldnt believed that I am there - on my own and it is real !!!
The same was with the place with famous lift close to the ocean - which takes you to the downtown -marvelous view !!!!!
I always dreamed about seeing it and listen to voice of ocean and smeeling the air in that place !!!! and I did !!! and then we ate delicious ice creams !!!
and then visiting beautiful church Igreja de Sao Francisco - amazing !!!!!!!!! covered by gold inside !!! one of the most beautiful churches I saw in my life....

and the next day - Sunday - beach ;) but the post from the beach - tommorow - after another "beach session"
